It was another busy week at the International Percussion Institute in Aberdeen, Scotland. A full week of classes for the institute participants and some great playing in the IPI Solo Marimba Competition. Burritt presented two sessions. Session one was presented on site at Slains Castle on the coast of the North Sea. Session two covered the role of silence in solo marimba performance using John Serry's "Night Rhapsody" for marimba as an example.
