Many thanks to Dr. Mark Ramirez, Executive Director of International Percussion Institute, for organizing a life changing seminar for these students from all over the world. A great thing is being established in Aberdeen, Scotland! Students were exposed to multiple master classes, sessions, and performances from world renowned artists Jonathan Ovalle (University of Michigan), Chris Whyte (Western Oregon University), Dr. Mark Ramirez (Univeristy of Texas Rio Grande Valley), and Dr. Lisa Nicol (University of Aberdeen). The seminar was followed up by the first ever IPI Solo Marimba Competition.
